What are extruded pellets?

Our ingredients consisting of nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables and berries are crushed and mixed. The crushed components are mixed using steam, heat and pressure and then pressed into various shapes. In this process, all germs, traces of fungus, toxins and microorganisms (healthy microorganism like probiotics are added later on again) that can occur in conventional seeds mixtures are destroyed.

In addition, the individual food components are now fully “open” and much better digestible by your parrots. Our extruded pellets contain all the vitamins, amino acids & minerals a bird needs to stay healthy on a daily basis. Conventional seeds do not offer this, so the bird is undersupplied in the long run.

Our pellets provide your birds with valuable nutrients such as a whole range of fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, seeds, herbs, vitamins, amino acids, minerals and vegetable oils.

Milk Thistle Seeds

The silymarin contained in the seeds is responsible for the liver-protective effect of milk thistle. A mixture of three flavonoids. Due to malnutrition in parakeet and parrot husbandry, the consequences are often fatty liver. Silymed can have a regenerating effect here.

Blueberries

The health benefits of blueberries are truly extraordinary. They contain minerals that parrots need, such as potassium, manganese, copper, iron and zinc. Few fruits have higher levels of antioxidants. Research studies suggest that the chlorogenic acid in these berries helps lower blood sugar levels. Yes, parrots can also suffer from type II diabetes.

Beetroot

Beetroot is one of the vegetables richest in vitamins and minerals. The vitamins of the B group, niacin, folic acid and vitamin C are included in noteworthy vitamins. In addition to sodium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus, beetroot has a high calcium content when it comes to minerals. Beetroot is said to have a strengthening effect, it stimulates the appetite and supports blood formation due to the high iron content.

Flaxseed

Because they contain so many essential nutrients, flaxseeds are amazing for the overall health of your parrots. Flaxseed is also especially helpful if you have a bird that is prone to feather plucking. Flaxseeds improve feather and skin condition. They are considered very healthy because of their high proportion of alpha-linolenic acid, a polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid, despite their high fat content.

Sprirulina

Spirulina is a small alga. This special algae quickly absorbs minerals and nutrients from seawater, which are 100% natural. The algae are mined off the coast of Iceland and have a high content of calcium and magnesium. This is immensely important for building bones and forming the eggshell.

Carrots

Simple and colorful, the carrot is a great source of fiber and packed with beta-carotene. Getting your parrot plenty of soluble fiber, like that found in carrots, can keep your bird’s cholesterol levels in check and promote regular bowel movements. Carrots also contain important vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin K, and calcium, all of which are important for good bone health.

Coconut

The medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) found in coconut oil have antiviral and antifungal properties that benefit the bird’s gut health. The antioxidants in coconut may also help the immune system by reducing inflammation. Coconut is a high-fiber fruit that can improve your bird’s digestion and prevent intestinal obstructions. When fiber is digested, the material clumps together in the stomach before being released into the small intestine. Regular, solid stools are essential to keep the bird’s intestines healthy and prevent bacterial infections. Fiber also helps your bird stay full longer and maintain their energy levels.

Strawberry

Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and have countless antioxidants. They also stimulate and strengthen the good bacteria that reside in the lower part of the gastrointestinal tract. Another great thing about strawberries is that it’s a low-carb fruit, meaning your parrot won’t gain weight. Potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium and vitamin C are just a few of the components found in strawberries. Your birds receive all these substances every day in our extruded pellets.

Banana

Tropical fruits like bananas should be part of your parrot’s diet. Bananas contain fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, potassium, magnesium and various antioxidants. Consumption can improve a parrot’s vision, boost its immune system, reduce the long-term effects of aging, and increase its energy levels. Bananas grow in tropical climates around the world, including Asia, South America, and Africa. As our exotic birds are native to all of these regions, you can find African Grey Parrots, Macaws, Ring-necked Parakeets, Senegal Parrots, Monk Parakeets and Amazons eating bananas whenever the opportunity arises.

Brewer's yeast

Brewer’s yeast contains protein and many minerals and vitamins that parrots need, especially during the moulting and breeding season. The most important minerals and vitamins contained in brewer’s yeast include potassium, selenium, zinc, copper, iron and vitamins of the B complex such as vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and others.

Corn

Corn is an easy and healthy food option that’s low in calories and has some nutritional benefits. Speaking from a wild perspective, parrots tend to seek out corn in the wild. It’s a simple and easily digestible food that they love. In addition, corn offers some of the most important nutritional benefits for parrots. Corn is rich in vitamin B, zinc, magnesium, copper and iron.

Apple

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is a saying we’ve all heard and with good reason. The same goes for parrots. Apples contain a variety of nutrients that are of immense value to the health of parrots. These nutrients include: vitamin C, vitamin A and magnesium.

Papaya

Fruits like papaya are an important part of a parrot’s balanced diet and they should be eating the right amount every day. Papaya is considered a superfood to parrots and has high levels of vitamin C. Vitamin C acts as a natural stress relief for birds and can boost their immune system.

Peanut Oil

The main fatty acids in peanut kernel oils are oleic, linoleic and palmitic. Peanut oil is a great source of vitamin E. Vitamin E is actually the name for a group of fat-soluble compounds that have many important functions in the birds body. The main role of vitamin E is to function as an antioxidant, protecting the body from harmful substances called free radicals. Peanut oil is high in both monounsaturated (MUFA) and polyunsaturated (PUFA) fats, both of which have been researched extensively for their roles in reducing heart disease. Studies have shown that monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats may improve blood sugar control. Omega-6 fatty acids are a type of polyunsaturated fat. They are an essential fatty acid, meaning that you must feed them through the diet because the birds body cannot make them. Along with the better known omega-3 fatty acids, omega-6 fatty acids play a critical role in proper growth and development, as well as normal brain function
